9:00am "Howl's Moving Castle" (2004)
Directed by Hayao Miyazaki. When an unconfident young woman is cursed with an old body by a spiteful witch, her only chance of breaking the spell lies with a self-indulgent yet insecure young wizard and his companions in his legged, walking home. Highly recommended for all ages.
11:00am "Dracula" (1931)

12:30pm "Frankenstein" (1931)
Boris Karloff as The Monster.
2:00pm "The Mummy" (1932)
Boris Karloff (again) as Im-Ho-Tep.
3:30pm "The Mummy" (1999)
Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz and Arnold Vosloo. Rated PG-13 for pervasive adventure violence and some partial nudity.
6:00pm "Dracula" (1992)
Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder, Anthony Hopkins and Keanu Reeves (Whoa.) Rated R for sexuality and horror violence.
8:30pm "Brotherhood of the Wolf" (2001)
Based on the true story of The Beast of Gévaudan which, between 1764 and 1767, killed nearly a hundred mostly women and children in southeastern France. Rated R for strong violence and gore, and sexuality/nudity.
11:00pm "Shaun of the Dead" (2004)
A man decides to turn his moribund life around by winning back his ex-girlfriend, reconciling his relationship with his mother, and dealing with an entire community that has returned from the dead to eat the living. Rated R for zombie violence/gore and language.
Sunday

"Abbot and Costello meet the Mummy" (1955)
Bud Abbott, Lou Costello and Marie Windsor.
10:30am "Attack of the Mushroom People" (1963)
Directed by Ishirô Honda ("Gojira").
12:00pm "The Last Man on Earth" (1964)
Vincent Price in an adaptation of Richard Matheson's "I Am Legend". The last living man on an Earth that is now overrun with vampires.
1:30pm "A Chinese Ghost Story" (1987) Leslie Cheung and Joey Wong. A humble tax collector arrives in a small town to carry out his work. Unsurprisingly, no-one is willing to give him shelter for the night, so he ends up spending the night in a haunted temple. There, he falls in love with a beautiful ghost.



Note: Many of these films, because of their darker content, contain blood, violence, coarse language and other content that may not be suitable for a younger audience. The Video Room is not a day care and The Controller is not responsible for censoring what your children see. If you don't want your kids to watch any film then it is your responsibility as parents to find something else for them to do.
