Ken Chiacchia

Ken Chiacchia's first professional speculative fiction sale, "A Technical Fix," appeared in Cicada, the young-adult literary fiction magazine, in March/April 2002. Oceans of the Mind printed "Tribute" in their Fall 2003 mystery issue; "Epidemic" was published in Ideomancer in July 2003; and "And Yet It Moves," an historical-fiction apologia for his public-relations day job, appeared in Paradox in November 2003. Cicada printed a second story, "The Rescue Contact," in their January/February 2004. Ken's latest outing is "Tribute," which appeared in Oceans of the Mind's Spring 2005 military SF issue.

In addition to SF, Ken has written numerous freelance nonfiction articles about science, health, and nature. His education includes a PhD in biochemistry from Harvard University. An avid hiker, skier, and caver, he is also a volunteer search-and-rescue dog handler and wilderness EMT with Allegheny Mountain Rescue Group of Pittsburgh, PA.
